About This Course
This course covers contemporary strategies for managing benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), emphasizing patient-centered care and effective collaboration among urologists and advanced practice providers (APPs). Participants will explore patient evaluation, symptom assessment, and treatment selection between minimally invasive surgical therapies (MIST) and Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP), including patient counseling, procedural techniques, complications management, and postoperative care. Additional modules focus on optimizing bladder health, featuring advanced technologies like UroLift, Greenlight, and Aquablation, and detailed guidance on performing procedures, anesthesia selection, and recovery management. The course also highlights the essential role of APPs in enhancing care through patient navigation, telehealth integration, accurate diagnostic testing, and ongoing patient education, preparing clinicians to effectively manage patient expectations, procedural outcomes, and overall satisfaction.
